Close Ties magazine was produced in 7 issues from 1990 to 1997 by Richmond County (Virginia) Intermediate School and gave students an opportunity to learn about and report on their community's history. For each year's issue, students interviewed family and community members and gathered photographs, under the guidance of their teacher/advisors. Themes included: various (1991); military veterans (1992); local agriculture (1993) ; local baseball history (1994 and 1995); and various (1997). No 1996 issue was produced, as the 1997 issue was composed over two years.The first issue, published in 1990, about local watermen, is not yet included in  this online collection
